The evolution of artistic production in the context of web platforms and social networks has modified the creative paradigm, not only because time and space have been modified by the introduction of new ICT (communication technologies) but also because these changes imply new parameters in personal bonds and in the way of manifesting our skills and thoughts. This reality strongly conditions artistic practice from the interrelation of discourses, images and digital procedures, integrating everyday culture with a combination of signs and concepts that circulate globally. It is considered that this phenomenon is shaping a hybrid symbolic field where identities of all kinds intersect and many critics come to define the process as the deterritorialization of contemporary culture.
However, we believe that all artistic manifestations – and mainly photography and the visual arts – continue to be a creative space in relation to any narrative construction that seeks to homogenize its discourse in a single sense.
And it is in this sense that we prefer to speak of the ‘Transmedial’, from the use of different complementary narrative supports that expand our story, and of the ‘Glocal’, as a concept that works in the construction of local, particular stories, in the context of an international or regional opening that demands globalization in the use of productive inputs and circulation of works. In the intrusion of new technologies, not only our capacity to manifest ourselves is expanded, but also our possibilities of inserting ourselves in vast artistic and cultural spaces.
